Who is Denese?

Denese Butler Artis was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. From there, she attended South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC where she met and married her husband. After many years of service, she retired from the Financial Services Industry in 2011. Widowed in 2016, the mother of two daughters and grandmother to ten, currently lives in Charlotte, NC. Denese serves on the Human Relations Committee of Community Link, a non-profit organization whose mission is to enable individuals and families to obtain and sustain safe, decent and affordable housing.
